Elaine T. Kovner, CPA
Elaine has been in public practice since 1986. She moved to San Antonio in 1990, then started her own accounting firm in 2000, which ran successfully until 2015. She welcomed the opportunity to become a partner with Kruppa & Nelson PLLC in 2016. Her focus has been in tax, including S Corporations, C Corporations, Partnerships, Trusts, Estates, LLCs and Sole Proprietorships as well as individuals. She focuses on tax planning opportunities and assists clients in understanding the entity maze. She also provides Financial Statement Compilations and assists clients with the implementation and use of QuickBooks. Her clients are diverse, including physicians, attorneys, manufacturers, investors, design firms, and retail establishments.
Elaine currently serves on the Committee for the Texas Tax Institute of the Texas Society of CPAs. She is a member of the San Antonio Chapter of the Texas Society of CPAs and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. She completed the San Antonio Chapter’s Institute for Developing Excellence in Accounting Leadership (iDEAL) program in January 2014.
In the community, Elaine enjoys singing and playing guitar. She has served many terms on several non-profit boards and executive committees. Elaine was the 2008 recipient of the Or Tamid (Everlasting Light) award from Temple Beth El Sisterhood. She served as president of Oak Hills Rotary Club 2002-2003.
After earning a bachelor's degree in Fine Arts from the University of Texas at Austin in 1975 she completed the course requirements to sit for the CPA exam at the University of New Orleans in 1986. Elaine is married to Steve Kovner and they have two sons, Nathan and Mike, two daughters-in-law, Meredith and Amy, a beautiful granddaughter, Maya, and twin grandsons, Ari and Noam.
